The second week of the Great British Bake Off is bread week, which means Paul Hollywood the bread master, is watching like a hawk. Luckily all the bakers kept themselves in one piece this week. The same couldn't be said for all the muffins as one of them got a little too close to an elbow :-)
Bread in all shapes and sizes was being produced in the Bake Off tent, from English muffins to a unique White chocolate and orange peacock bread to lots of different flavoured bread sticks. The latter one was chosen for my little challenge at home this week.

This recipe has a great little kick to it, which takes a while to develop in your mouth. I couldn't find any jalapenos in the shop so I opted for chillies instead.
The dough was easy to work with and I like the spicy taste of these Italian Grissini. I'm not sure, if the crunchiness of my bread sticks would have impressed Mr. Hollywood, something to work on for next time.
Of all the brilliant breads made by the contestants I especially loved "Paul the psychic octopus tribute loaf" and the "Giant matchbox".
